Napkin Rings | D-Ring Ribbon | Blue & White with Red napkins | Sweet Lane Events

These D-ring ribbon napkin rings are so quick to make, I did six in under 10 minutes.  The great thing  about these there napkin rings is the unlimited possibilities you can create.  There are so many designs, patterns and colors in ribbon, you could easily make these for every holiday and event of the year.

I choose blue and white ribbon to use for my 4th of July table with red cloth napkins, but the blue and white looks very classic and clean with white napkins.  They would also look great with a mint green napkin or they would really pop with a bright orange.  These D-ring ribbon napkin rings are inexpensive and quick to make but why not make ones that you can use for a variety of events and color schemes.

No sewing required

Probably the best way to make these napkin rings is to sew the D-rings in the ribbon but I will look for any reason not to have to pull out my sewing machine or a needle and thread.  I don’t really hate sewing but pulling it out, I find painful, because I don’t have a place to keep it set up.  My solution to no sewing is liquid stitch.  In case you have never hear of it, it is basically glue for fabric and can be found any place sewing supplies are sold.    Sewing these together will make really strong napkin rings but I really think the liquid stitch is adequate, napkin rings generally don’t undergo heavy wear and tear.

pull ribbon through d-rings

These napkin rings work just like a belt with D-rings but in case you’ve never worn one.  Start with the inside of the ribbon facing up so you see the seam and the D-rings on the right side.  Bring the D-rings to meet the other end and pull the end through both D-rings, The loose end will know be on the right side and the D-rings are in the middle,.  Take the loose end back to the left, by going over the first D-ring and under the second one.   The loose end will be on the left side again.  Pull the end to the desired tightness and adjust the ribbon to straighten out.
